Week 18

Baller On A Budget

Before taking last week off, we were kicking some hip-hop soul with Return of the (Shelvin) Mack. Shelvin was on fiyaahhh, groovin’ his way to an average of 6.6 points per $1,000 in his four contests!!  Hopefully you were able to cash in before Mack’s price tag skyrocketed last week. If you did, I’m sure you’re in still riding the vibe.

This week, we’re going to keep riding with the hip-hop culture, getting Trill in Sacramento. Willie Cauley-Stein legally changed his name to Willie Trill Cauley-Stein in the off-season, but just  recently started to keep it trill (defined by Urban Dictionary as keeping it real or true) on the court. With the Kings all but mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and franchise cornerstone DeMarcus Cousins nursing injuries and already making summer plans, Trill has stepped up in the past couple games with 40.2 and 30.4 fantasy points. Not normally a scorer, Cauley-Stein has put together back-to-back 20 point performances while shooting DeAndre Jordan-like percentages. While the scoring may be an aberration, if Cauley-Stein can continue to soak up minutes and catch lobs, we should expect him to continue to rebound and block shots to bolster his value. At only $3,900 if Willie keeps it trill, he’ll produce a few more hit games that can help you climb to the top of the charts.
