Week 1 NFL Daily Fantasy Sports Match-ups

Labor Day is over and in two days the NFL begins. Today I’m going to cover all my initial thoughts for all the games. It will be brief with more detail coming later in the week.

Carolina vs Denver
No reason to play this game unless you want to build rosters before all the geniuses twist your thoughts . I recommend a full fade on this game as it has the third lowest Vegas total

Rams vs 49ers
Sneaky game 44.5 total according to Vegas.
Both teams are terrible defending the pass but I don’t see either team really having the weapons to take advantage of it. I’ll be taking a closer look at Carlos Hyde in this one as he could be a sneaky running back option

Raiders vs Saints
One of the best games to target for fantasy value. In the previous article I stated I disagree with how the experts feel this game will play out and I still do. I think we can safely target both teams especially their passing games. Looking hard at Coby Fleener at the tight end position from the Saints and Amari Cooper definitely interests me from the Raiders

Minnesota vs Tennessee
Adrian Peterson game script here not much else for me here

Cincinnati vs Jets
Much better fantasy options available on this slate but I do have interest in Brandon Marshall due to his targets and price and Eric Decker due to his red zone involvement. On second thought I may actually like this spot for a wide receiver than I thought

Bills vs Ravens
Last time I mentioned the defenses I’m off them as of now as they are not as good as I thought . Tyron Taylor and Lesean McCoy are the only fantasy relevant players here

Cleveland vs Eagles
I’ll take a pass but may consider the Eagles defense

Tampa vs Atlanta
Love all aspects of the passing game for both teams Jamis Winston is my second favorite quarterback on the slate and pairing him with Mike Evans may be wise. Julio Jones is always in play

Green Bay vs Jacksonville
Not sure about this game and I may take a pass as the game crispy can go many ways. Will dive into this game more later in the week

San Diego vs Kansas City
Targeting Kansas City defense kicker and running game especially Spencer Ware who is a good value running back

Bears vs Texans
All in on the Texans and has blowout written all over it . Chicago will be without its top 3 corners most likely. Targeting the entire Texans offense and their defense is in play as well. Sleeper wide receiver Will Fuller at $5800

Miami vs Seahawks
Seattle kicker and defense that’s about all for me.

Detroit vs Indianapolis
Both offenses in play this game will be the highest scoring game on the slate most likely with emphasis on the passing game . Marvin Jones is the chalk wide receiver and in cash you probably need to play him .

Giants vs Dallas
Dak Prescott is the chalk quarterback and the Giants gave up the third most fantasy points to the quarterback position last year. Odell Beckham always in play but I prefer Julio Jones and Antonio Brown.

New England vs Arizona
Not sure what I want to do with this game as I’m just not sure how the New England offense will function without Tom Brady. Arizona can score points in a hurry but I’m just not sure yet where the production will come from in this game

Steelers vs Redskins
The Monday night hammer I will have a ton of exposure to this game and I have a feeling a lot of people just won’t target this game as much as they should. I may just use a full Steeler game stack for my tournament lineups. Yes you read that right I may create 2 lineups for my NFL play if the slate looks right

In conclusion I’m focusing most of my efforts this week on the following games as they appear to be most fantasy relevant

Colts vs Lions
Steelers vs Redskins
Saints vs Raiders
Atlanta vs Tampa
Bears vs Texans

I’ll be narrowing down my player pool by position by Thursday so stay tuned

That’s a wrap
